Meet Cheryl — The heart behind the Authentic Jamaican Food
Raised in Jamaica, Cheryl grew up watching her father cook with fire, soul, and unmatched flavor. He didn’t follow recipes. He followed instincts, traditions, and love. What started as family meals and backyard gatherings quickly became the foundation of something bigger.
When Cheryl moved to the U.S., she brought those roots with her. Papa’s Got Jerk was born as a tribute to her father, a celebration of culture, and a mission to share real Jamaican food with the community around her. From the restaurant to the food truck to full-scale catering, Cheryl leads with passion, pride, and a whole lot of spice.
This isn’t just food — it’s legacy on a plate. And Cheryl’s just getting started.

We Could Talk All Day, But Our Customers Say It Best.
“I LOVE this place. The food is always fresh and home cooked style. The owner is born and raised in Jamaica and does an excellent job of bringing her recipes and spices to Southern Utah for us to experience Authentic Jamaican food here in town. If you haven’t tried it, be sure to visit.

“Delightful small restaurant with delicious Jamaican food. Service was friendly, and food had a nice little kick to it! I tried the Jerk Pork and loved it. But those I came with tried the oxtail with butter beans and the curry goat and everything was awesome. Recommend trying this place out if you like this style of food! The rice & peas were tasty too and consider giving the fried plantains a try! They are my friend’s favorite thing here!”

“What a GEM in St. George!! Thank you for bringing culture and flavor. We just ate there Saturday and hands down, the best jerk chicken I have ever had. The oxtail and butter beans were phenomenal as well. Good vibes, great music and the best people.
My son and his family have been raving about Papa's Got Jerk since they moved here from Washington State. Great food is hard to find in St. George, and they out did themselves. We will be back every time we visit. Thank you!”

“Papa’s got Jerk is hands down the best food in Saint George and it’s not even close! I have had Caribbean style food in the past but who would guessed the best would be in Southern Utah. The Beef patties are incredible and the Oxtails are top 5 foods I’ve ever had.”
